Recreation



The following are some of the activities available for recreation while at Riverbend Retreat Center.

(Unless otherwise stated, these activities need to be scheduled through our office prior to your retreat.)

 

   

Paintball Course and Range: .  The Frontier Paintball Course is for Jr. High and up and can be scheduled for 1 or 2 hours.

Riverbend provides all the equipment and supplies for

this fast-paced, teamwork activity. *

The Paintball Target Range is a great activity for younger age kids.

A Riverbend staff member will assist your group with the target range. *

Skeet Shooting:  Practice your target shooting with our hybrid bend shooting range. 

Shotguns, shells, clays, and safety gear provided.  *

   

Challenge Course:  The Challenge Course is a wonderful tool that will help your team develop teamwork, unity, and much more.

Zip Line:  Stretch yourself and feel the rush and great sense of accomplishment of zipping from our 45 foot tower!

(Weight restrictions of 40-300lbs.  Hat and harness must fit correctly.) *

   

Outdoor Adventure Hike: is a great opportunity for your group to experience and learn more about Riverbend's beautiful natural setting. One of our program staff can give your group an informative hands-on tour of the wonderful creation that is all around us.  There are 2 types of tours: Natural Fauna, and Dino Track Tours. *

Paddleboats: We have 10 paddle boats, which can accommodate up to

30 people at one time. A Riverbend staff member will assist your group

with the paddle boats. *

   

Campfires: can be scheduled for your group and are set up at the amphitheatre, lakeside amphitheatre or outpost camp. There is no extra charge for this activity, but it will need to be scheduled in advance.

Hayrides:  Our tractor-pulled trailer can accommodate up to 30 people at once.

Hayrides are scheduled in 30 minute increments. *

   

Archery Range: One of our certified instructors will teach your group for 1 hour on every aspect of archery. *

 
Ga Ga Ball: A great fast pased game that is available on a first-come, first-use basis. Four pits available. 9 Square in the Air:   Combine the playground favorite 4 squre with volleyball and the results is an incredibly fun, fast-paced and addictive game for groups.  It is great indoors or outside.  2 Squares available.
   

Waterfront: The Waterfront is a Riverbend favorite. A 3 acre lake which features

"The Blob", Iceberg, Space Mountain, Zip Line, Trapeze Swings, seasonal paddleboats &

a swim area.  Certified Riverbend Lifeguards are on duty to ensure a safe, fun time. 

The waterfront is available from the 3rd weekend in May until Labor Day Weekend. *

Swimming Pool: The Swimming Pool is a great opportunity for your group to cool off and enjoy the water. This pool is from 3' to 12' deep and features a diving board. Certified Riverbend Lifeguards are on duty to ensure a safe, fun time. The pool is available from the 1st weekend in May until Labor Day Weekend.*

Other Activities & Recreation that your group may want to participate in:
   
  • The Activity Center is a two-court indoor gymnasium. It is available at no cost on a first come basis and can usually be used by multiple groups. It contains three basketball goals. Groups of at least 300 can reserve this facility for a meeting space.
  • Sports Fields & Activity Center (Multiple use facility, unable to be individually reserved)
    • Basketball - Indoor and Outdoor
    • Volleyball - Indoor and Outdoor (2 Sand & 2 Concrete)
    • Football
    • Soccer

(Equipment is located in the activity center or can be checked out in the camp office)

  • Softball: 2 fields, 1 lighted (equipment can be checked out in the office by an adult)
  • Ping-pong (equipment is available at the canteen)
  • Frisbee Golf (Frisbees, score cards & pencils are available in the camp office)
  • Tetherball
  • Fishing on the Lake (Guests must provide their own equipment)
  • Hiking Trails

Challenge Course *

"Growing through Unity." The Challenge Course is ideal for youth groups, school groups, and also single, marriage, and staff retreats. Through fun and exciting activities, the challenge course facilitates:
